Eighties Fashion Style

She's the pop singer seen jogging in Central Park. Madonna captured the style and fashion sense of generation. Especially teenage girls in the 1980s. Madonna is among the most influential people of the 1980s.

Madonna has always had a special relationship with the media. While many stars try desperately to avoid the paparazzi, Madonna has the power to manipulate the media to her advantage.

In 1985 Madonna ruled the airwaves and MTV too. Madonna at her peak was making music, videos and even movies at a fevered pace. Madonna had the media all sewn up by the mid 1980s. Madonna never had too much trouble from the paparazzi. She, in fact, seemed to embrace the photographers throughout her early career.

From her wildly teased and colored hair to the return of lace and fishnet stockings, her accessories were outrageous, and girls around the world wanted to be like Madonna even going so far as to add her trademark mole to their cheeks.

New Citroën C4 Breaks Cover: First Official Pictures of Focus Fighter

Citroën just couldn't wait until this fall's Paris Salon to show us the all-new C4 five-door hatchback as the French automaker decided to release the first official photos of its C-segment model. As with the current C4, the new compact hatch will take on the likes of the VW Golf, Renault Megane, Ford Focus, Opel Astra and Toyota Auris.

If you're thinking it looks familiar in a conservative kind of way, you're probably right as the 2011 C4 is the five-door version of Citroën's near-production DS High Rider concept that was first shown at this year's Geneva Salon.

Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week as always was a major destination for the designer crowd recently. Boasting some of the hottest names in the industry and an A grade guest list, Paris is the home of Haute Courture.

Naturally plenty of press were on hand to give a blow by blow description of each days high and low lights. Now that the closing ceremony has come and gone the critics have given their overview of proceedings and as always it has involved an over use of adjectives and overstating the obvious.

Yabba Dabba Doo Porsche 911 GT3 RS: Pedal-Powered Sports Machine Made from Cardboard and Aluminum Foil

This here is the Ferdinand 911 GT3 RS - without doubt, the most technologically advanced and at the same time environmentally-friendly and fuel efficient Porsche model ever to see the light of day.

It uses a high tech chassis bonded together with a special adhesive tape coated in polyethylene while the body is finger-made from exotic lightweight materials such as thin sheets of paperboard covered in a space-age aluminum foil that serves various purposes.

In this case, power is provided by a left-to-mid-mounted human-boxer unit capable of delivering a yawn-inspiring 1 fhp (foot horsepower) when fully fed, relaxed and emotionally happy.

Older/wiser

Today is Mr TNMA's birthday. And I sent him two cards. One from the real me and one from That's Not My Age - sometimes I wonder about this blogging malarkey, first a wrist injury, then the next thing you know I'm borderline schizophrenic. Anyhow. This is one of the well-chosen cards from Hello Lucky, check out the website for a fine selection of gifts and stationery.

Talking of lovely printed things, I've had my eye on this Ros Shiers' illustration for a while. That's not his birthday present though.

And neither is this:

No. Mr That's Not My Age is now the proud owner of the latest Yotam Ottolenghi cookbook, Plenty, and a pestle and mortar. My friend says this is pure self-interest. It's a vegetarian cookbook, I'm a vegetarian. It's a cookbook, Mr TNMA does all the cooking. But I disagree. There are loads of recipes with tomatoes, and I hate tomatoes.

Guardian columnist and café owner, Ottolenghi is a genius by the way. Mr TNMA highly recommends his recipe books. For my birthday, I think the Blog Widower might buy me this fabulous print from self-proclaimed, illustration wizard Mr Bingo:

Got to go, my dinner's on the table!

FOR ALL WHO SERVED

Giving thanks this Memorial Day to my father-in-law, grandfathers, uncles (who thank god all made it home from the wars they fought) and to all the other men and women who served our country so that we can live this American life of backyard barbecues and feisty conversations; girls who run free in short-shorts, hair uncovered; libraries filled with books, that nobody can tell me I cannot read; and a democracy that though complicated and contentious is still the best one there's ever been.

The bigger, the better

hey,

I know it has been a long time, to long. But it has been a very busy week at school. All our tasks had to be finished.
So I didn't had any time to post some pictures. But this weekend I had a bit of time, so I did some shopping. I bought a short, it's a very loose one. It's so comfortable and cute. The skirt is very simple but I like it. The earrings are very big, but thats the way I like them. I bought everyting at H&M. After shopping I went to Sex and the city 2 with my friends. I loved the movie!! It's absolutely fantastic and fashionable!!!!! It cerently is a must-see!!!
I noticed I've already got so more followers, so I'm really happy!

Here's a funny story: My mum just told me she bought a new pro-age soap. She said she never felt softer. So i felt and she was rigth. Then she showed me the bottle. I carefully read everything and then I saw this: Beauty body lotion!! It wasn't soap!! :p
She was washing herself for over two weeks with body lotion :p Th next five minutes she couldn-'t stop laughing, she blames it on her age.

I'll write again soon!

Greetz, X.
